Business Administration of the School of Management & Economics in Beijing Institute of Technology is the earliest established major in the management discipline of our university. It began to enroll students in 1980 and was adjusted from Management Engineering to Business Administration in 1998. This major is affiliated to the first-level discipline of Business Administration, with the right to grant master's and doctor's degrees and a post-doctoral mobile station. Relying on the excellent educational resources of the Beijing Institute of Technology and the school of management, and taking advantage of the joint training of the Department of Technology Economy and Strategy Management and the Department of Organization and Human Resources, this major has formed a multi-module and multi-level course education system with distinctive features and reasonable structure. In the teaching field, teachers adopt effective teaching methods such as case teaching, and make full use of information-based teaching means to enable students to have complete professional knowledge of management subject and solid comprehensive theoretical foundation, as well as strong capabilities of strategic management, human resources management, and project management.

There are 35 full-time teachers in this major , one of whom is awarded Minister of Education Yangtze river Scholar , and one is national outstanding youth fund gainer, and one is the candidate for national "pacesetter project" , and one was awarded international quality academy of sciences. Over 60% of the teachers have overseas study or visiting experience, and 86% of the teachers have doctoral degrees. The graduates have a wide range of employment fields, covering industrial and commercial enterprises and public institutions, as well as financial institutions and government departments, etc. They are widely employed in defense, finance, real estate, automobile, manufacturing, information and other industries. This major grants a bachelor's degree in management.

In recent five years, this major has undertaken more than 70 all kinds of projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation, National Social Science Fund, the Ministry of Education Funds, the Ministry of Education Humanities Social Sciences Doctoral Fund, the National Soft Science Research Plan, the ministry of defence soft science plan, Beijing Since the funds and social science fund, enterprise cooperation research and international cooperation and so on. The total research budget is more than 15 million yuan. More than 400 academic papers have been published, among which more than 60 have been retrieved in SSCI, SCI and EI.
