On April 1-6, 2019, the first meeting of the third working group of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) was held in Edinburgh, UK.The meeting discussed and identified the specific preparation of the chapters of the third working group report.The meeting was led by the IPCC Working Group III and hosted by the Scottish Government.Nearly 300 experts from the Scottish government, the IPCC Bureau and the AR6 Working Group III attended the meeting.
Professor Wei Yiming was invited to be the third working group Coordinate Lead Author (CLA, a total of 34 people worldwide), and participate in the first working meeting, responsible for the writing and coordinating work of the sixth chapter of the third working group (https://archive.ipcc.ch/report/authors/authors.php?q=37&p=6). Being selected as the lead author of the IPCC is of great significance to China's work on climate change and helps to enhance China's international influence in the field of climate change science.On March 13-16, 2018, the 47th Presidium of the IPCC was held in Paris, France. A total of 707 authors were selected in the AR6, including 37 Chinese authors (https://archive.ipcc. Ch/report/authors/).The third working group selected 226 people worldwide, of which 8 Chinese were selected as the lead authors and 2 were selected as the lead author coordinators.
