On April 21, 2023, Professor Yuan Rongli from Renmin University of China was invited to present a report titled "Does the Threat of Securities Class Actions Add Value for Shareholders? Evidence from China's 2020 Adoption of Securities Class Actions". The presentation was held in the 117 conference room of the main building, with over 10 teachers and students from the School of Management and Economics, including graduate and undergraduate students. The host is Assistant Professor Cui Yujia from the Accounting Department of the School of Management and Economics.
Professor Yuan Rongli shared his latest paper achievement in the report, that is, the stock market reaction of the American style Securities Class Action (SCA) introduced by China in July 2020. Unlike evidence from the United States, the paper found that Chinese stock prices have responded positively to the launch of SCA, which can increase shareholder value.
Professor Yuan Rongli's report fully aroused the interest and enthusiasm of the attending teachers and students. After the report, all teachers and students actively communicated and interacted with Professor Yuan. The report received a warm response and received unanimous praise from both teachers and students.
