【Mingli Lecture 2022, Issue 23】4-21 Professor Zuo Min was invited to give an academic report

On April 21st, [Mingli Lecture 2022 Issue 23] was honored to invite Professor Zuo Min, Vice President of Beijing Technology and Business University, to bring you an academic report entitled "Application of Big Data and Intelligent Technology in Food Field". Professor Hao Yu from the School of Management and Economics of Beijing Institute of Technology introduced Professor Zuo Min and presided over the report.

                      

2021 is the first year of the metaverse, which is essentially a virtual representation of the real world. Human perception of the world mainly comes from five senses: vision, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. The more information obtained by the senses, the more real the human perception of the world. The current research on the metaverse mainly focuses on the virtual reality of vision, hearing and touch in the real world, and the research on virtual smell and virtual taste is relatively lagging behind. However, the olfactory interaction technology plays an important role in enhancing the immersion of the virtual environment, and is an indispensable part of the five senses of the metaverse. In this report, Professor Zuo Min, starting from the difficulties of virtual olfaction technology, elaborated on the principle of virtual olfaction, key technologies of virtual olfaction, research progress of virtual olfaction and future application of virtual olfaction.

Professor Zuo Min's wonderful speech not only broadened our academic horizons, but also brought us new scientific research inspiration. At the end of the lecture, the teachers and students at the scene actively spoke and asked questions, and Professor Zuo Min gave them detailed answers one by one. The academic lecture ended successfully with the warm applause of the students.

Introduction of Professor Zuo Min:

Zuo Min, male, born in 1973, doctor of engineering, professor, doctoral supervisor. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Beijing Technology and Business University, a member of the Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education's E-commerce Major, and the deputy director of the National Engineering Research Center for Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Traceability Technology and Application. Engaged in technical research on food big data technology, food quality traceability technology, and food and information intersection. He presided over the research and development of the national food safety sampling inspection and monitoring platform, provided information collection, sampling, analysis and processing services for food safety supervision departments, and realized food safety intelligent evaluation, early warning and traceability. The main academic part-time jobs are: Director of the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Society, Deputy Director of the Intelligent Service Professional Committee of the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Society.
