On the morning of September 29,2020, Professor Huang Zhimin, Business School of Adelphi University, was invited to give a report on "Research and Critical Thinking:A Study in Supply Chain Management" online. The report was presided over by Professor Yu Biying, and the teachers and students of the Center participated in the report.
Huang Zhimin is a professor at the Adelphi University School of Business. He is editor of Journal of Modeling in Management, also the editorial board of many of the world's top journals. Professor Huang has published over 80 articles in top academic journals in the fields of management, economics and operations research, Among them, 2 published in Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research. Professor Huang is also an authoritative expert in the field of DEA. Professor Huang is the main pioneer in cooperative advertisingfield. At present, the three most cited papers in this field are published by Professor Huang.
Based on a number of practical business cases and classic top articles in the field of operations research, Professor Huang describes some of the classical operational research models, such as goal planning, opportunity constraint planning and DEA. In this report, he vividly explains how the operational research model is generated from practical problems and how it is applied to problem solving. Then, Professor Huang shows you a concise but effective cooperative game model through a famous cooperative advertising case of manufacturers and retailers, which provides inspiration for modeling ideas and methods to solve practical problems. After the report, participants discussed with Professor Huang how to select key variables and parameters in the modeling process, as well as the modeling ideas of multi-objective planning.
