On November 5th, [Professor Face to Face-Academic Enlightenment] The fourth period of 2020, Room 302, South Building, Liberal Arts Teaching Building, Liangxiang Campus was successfully held. Professor Ju Yanbing from the Department of Management Engineering, School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology, gave a lecture on "Discrete Event System Simulation Modeling, Optimization and Implementation Process Analysis" to the students of the college and academy; the students of the college and academy actively participated in and listened to this lecture.
Professor Ju first used two integral questions to arouse students' thinking on mathematical modeling ideas and system simulation modeling ideas. The students became very interested in using computers to simulate discrete event systems. From this, Professor Ju started to introduce the basic process of discrete event system simulation modeling.
Professor Ju introduced to the students: System simulation includes three basic activities: system modeling, simulation modeling and simulation experiment. System modeling and simulation modeling are abstract processes guided by specific simulation requirements. The simulation experiment is the process of realizing the simulation model on the computer under the support of a certain simulation environment. System simulation is a method of experimental research using computer technology based on the model of the real system being studied; it is a research method and powerful tool for analyzing and synthesizing various systems, especially large systems; system simulation is usually also used It is called the "last method" in the field of science and technology.
In order to help students further understand the system simulation experiment, Professor Ju showed the simulation implementation process of M/M/1 and M/M/3 queuing system and made output data analysis. This is a brand-new experience for the students who are exposed to simulation experiments for the first time. During the experiment, the students seriously asked questions and expressed their opinions, and Professor Ju patiently provided detailed answers to the students.
Finally, Professor Ju introduced the implementation thought and process of system optimization to the students. Simulation optimization plays an important role in the field of discrete event dynamics; simulation modeling and simulation experiments are of great help in solving dynamic and complex changing events. Professor Ju mentioned that system optimization is inseparable from the further optimization of the algorithm. On the road of algorithm optimization, we need more effort and effort. The students also had a deeper understanding of discrete event system simulation modeling, and thanked Professor Ju for his wonderful explanation.
