On December 31, 2021, [Mingli Lecture 2021 Issue 77] was honored to invite Associate Professor Wang Shuming from the School of Economics and Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences to give a report entitled "Robust Stochastic Facility Location: Sensitivity Analysis and Exact Solution". The report was held in Conference Room 216 of the main building. More than 20 teachers and students including teachers and graduate students from the Department of Management Engineering attended the lecture. The host was Associate Professor Zhang Yuli from the Department of Management Engineering, School of Management and Economics.
In this report, Professor Wang Shuming introduced a class of generalized adaptive robust stochastic optimization of facility location problems. Professor Wang Shuming first discussed the latest research status of facility location selection considering uncertain factors, and proposed a facility location model considering state-dependent demand uncertainty based on an adaptive distributed robust optimization framework. For this model, a nested Benders decomposition algorithm is proposed to solve it accurately, the value of the state distribution information introduced in the robust stochastic facility location model is demonstrated, and the sensitivity of the model parameters is analyzed.
After the report, the teachers and students had a heated discussion on the adaptive and robust stochastic optimization of the facility location model and how to improve the model solving algorithm. The report received enthusiastic response and was well received by teachers and students.
