On November 24, 2020, [Ming Li Lecture Hall, Issue 36, 2020] I have the honor to invite Professor Yan Chong (Karen) Zheng from the Department of Operations Management, Sloan School of Business, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA to bring you the title "Improving Farmers' Revenue on Digital" "Agricultural Platforms" academic report, the report adopts the form of online live broadcast of Tencent conference. Many teachers and students, including some leaders, teachers, masters and doctoral students of the School of Management and Economics, attended this lecture. The host is Professor Li Guo from the Department of Technology, Economics and Strategic Management of the School of Management and Economics.
In the report, Professor Karen Zheng first gave an overall introduction to the characteristics of the current agricultural product supply chains in developing countries and the key challenges they face. After that, taking the Agricultural Digital Platform (UMP) in Karnataka, India as an example, the influencing factors and design mechanism of platform optimization were carried out from five aspects: logistics challenges, bidding efficiency, market concentration, and price discovery process. Explained in depth and thoroughness. Finally, Professor Karen Zheng shared his research experience on agricultural digital platform, which was deeply inspired by everyone.
