On April 8, 2017, at 10: 00-12: 00, Professor Xue Jinjun, Research Center for International Economic Policy, Nagoya University, Japan, gave an academic report entitled "China's Energy Structure Adjustment and Environmental Governance" at room 216 of the main building of Beijing Institute of Technology. The report was hosted by teacher Zhang Bin from Technical Economics and Management Department.
In the report Professor Xue Jinjun talked about China's carbon emissions and the causes of high carbon emissions. He mentioned that the coal-based energy structure is the main reason for China's high carbon emissions. Even with the country's strong introduction of natural gas and other clean energy, in a certain period of time, the coal-based energy structure will not be fundamentally changed. At the same time, Professor Xue Jinjun discussed coal consumption peak and nuclear power plants and nuclear pollution problems with the participating teachers and students.
Professor Xue Jinjun is Professor of the International Economic Policy Research Center of Nagoya University in Japan and co-director of International Low Carbon Economy Research Institute, the World Bank Research Department Poverty and Inequality project consultant, the National Development and Reform Commission Energy Research Institute guest researcher, Carbon Emissions Trading Center Hubei Province Collaborative Innovation Center chief scientist; also serves as "Singapore Economic Review" annual special issue Guest editor, "China Urban and Environmental Research "Editorial board and so on. Professor Xue Jinjun’s main research direction includes energy economy, and low-carbon economy.
