On August 19, 2024, under the guidance and support of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of the school, the School of Management, the Institute of International Organization Innovation, and the Institute of Integrated Society of Dankook University in South Korea jointly held the academic seminar "Technology and Policy for Sustainable Development" at the Zhongguancun Campus.
Six Korean scholars, including Kim Jaeil, Vice President of Dankook University, and KIM Hana, Dean of Institute of Integrated Society, Zou Meishuai, Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology, Wang Ying, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and more than 30 Chinese and foreign teachers and students, including School of Management and Institute of International Organization Innovation, attended the academic seminar. This academic seminar was co-chaired by Professor Liu Hao, executive vice director of the Institute of International Organization Innovation and vice dean of the School of Management, and Kim Jaeil, vice president of Dankook University in South Korea.
On behalf of the school, Vice President Zou Meishuai welcomed the Korean delegation to jointly hold the seminar. He shared the latest achievements of the school, appreciated the achievements made by the two universities since the establishment of cooperation, encouraged teachers and students of the two universities to maintain high-frequency interaction, further strengthen China-South Korea cooperation in education, science and technology and talents, contribute Asian wisdom to key issues of global governance such as sustainable development, promote the realization of the United Nations sustainable development goals, and jointly build Community of Shared Future for Mankind.
In his speech, KIM Jaeil, Vice President of Dankook University in South Korea, expressed his sincere gratitude to the experts, scholars, teachers and students who participated in and supported this seminar, and thanked Beijing Institute of Technology for setting up an exchange platform for scholars of the two countries, pushing the cooperation between universities of the two countries to a new level, and contributing new ideas and models to explore international science, technology and policy cooperation for sustainable development.
KIM Hana, dean of the Institute of Integrated Society of Dankook University in South Korea, believes that this seminar is a new path for scholars from both countries to jointly explore the realization of sustainable development through scientific and technological innovation and policy guidance under the background of globalization. China and South Korea continue to strengthen pragmatic cooperation, which can not only promote relevant research of both sides, but also contribute to the international community.
Four scholars from three universities in China and South Korea, Yin Ximing, director and special associate researcher of the Department of Public Administration, School of Management, Beijing Institute of Technology, Qu Guannan, associate professor of the Department of Public Administration, School of Management, Beijing Institute of Technology, PARK Jeho, professor of software department, Dankook University, South Korea, KIM Hyoungah, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Administration, Jeju National University, made reports on "Scenario-Driven Innovation: An Emerging Paradigm for Promoting Dual Transformation", "Blockchain-Based Approaches to Waste Management and Recycling: Towards a Sustainable Future", "Meaningful Innovation: A New Paradigm for Transforming Social Value into Competitive Advantage", and "The Role of Non-governmental Environmental Organizations in Promoting the Improvement of Air Quality in China" .

This seminar has enhanced exchanges and cooperation between China and South Korea in the fields of innovation and sustainable development, and provided Asian solutions, experiences and theories for sustainable development. The School of Management of Beijing Institute of Technology, the School of International Organization Innovation and Dankook University in South Korea will continue to cooperate to help responsible scientific and technological innovation and the construction of an international governance system, and work together to build Community of Shared Future for Mankind and achieve sustainable development goals.
