Recently, the 2024 Annual Meeting of the All-European/All-British Chinese Economic Association was successfully held at University College London, UK. With the theme of "Building a Sustainable and Resilient Economy". This annual meeting attracted 120 participants from China, Britain, Germany, France, Ireland, Australia, Egypt and other countries.
During the meeting, Mi Zhifu, an alumnus of Beijing Institute of Technology and a professor at University College London, was elected as the 36th president of the All-European/All-British Chinese Economic Association. Mi Zhifu studied at Beijing Institute of Technology for his master’s degree and doctoral degree, under the tutelage of Professor Wei Yiming.
Mi Zhifu, bachelor’s degree from Shandong University and doctoral degree from Beijing Institute of Technology, is currently a professor, doctoral supervisor and deputy dean of Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London (ranked 9th in the world by QS), senior visiting scholar at London School of Economics and Political Science, director of the International Input-Output Society, fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Co-editor-in-chief of SSCI journal Structural Change and Economic Dynamics (Q1 area, impact factor 5.0). He is committed to climate change economic and policy research, and has many achievements in the fields of comprehensive climate change assessment models, carbon emission accounting, input-output analysis, etc., which have been published in international journals such as Lancet, Science sub-journal, and Nature sub-journal. Selected into Forbes Europes "30 Under 30" Elite List and Clarivate Analyticss "Highly Cited Scientists", and won the University College London Outstanding Scientific Research Tutor Award, the World Sustainable Development Award, the Chinese Economics Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award, and Chinas 100 Most Influential International Academic Paper Award, Energy Economics Best Paper Award, Environmental Research Letters Best Young Scholar Paper Award, Applied Energy Highly Cited Original Paper Award, Nature Sustainability Cover Paper and other honors.
