On the morning of April 12, Wu Xiangyang, Director of the Social Responsibility Department of Henan State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), along with a delegation of three others, visited the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) Center for Common Prosperity and Human Resource Development (referred to as "the Center") for a work exchange. The meeting was attended by Professor Liu Pingqing, Director of the Center and doctoral advisor at the School of Management at BIT, Yu Haibin and Zhou Weiwei, Deputy Directors of the Education Foundation Office, Wang Shaohua, Executive Director of the Center and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Enterprise Observer, and other related experts and scholars.
The delegation first visited the BIT History Museum and the School of Management History Museum, where Professor Liu Pingqing introduced BIT's educational direction of nurturing talent for the Party and the nation, emphasizing its "Yan'an roots, military industry soul, and leadership" red gene. In the subsequent discussion, Professor Liu Pingqing and Director Wang Shaohua reported to Wu Xiangyang and his delegation on the Center’s key work and achievements in recent years. Since its establishment, the Center has organized the China Top 500 Enterprises in Philanthropy and Charity Research Results Release Conference more than twice annually, releasing lists and analysis reports for the World Top 500 Enterprises in Philanthropy and Charity, China Top 500 Enterprises in Philanthropy and Charity, and the National Top 100 Cities and Counties in Common Prosperity, maintaining a leading position nationally and globally. Additionally, with support from the university, the Center established the "Common Prosperity Research Promotion Fund," providing free consulting services, business ethics, and corporate social responsibility courses to enterprises. The Center has already collaborated with over 10 local enterprises in Henan in event organization and enterprise promotion.
Wu Xiangyang praised BIT for contributing many outstanding leaders to China and for its solid foundation in research and work related to common prosperity, green low-carbon development, social welfare, and corporate social responsibility. He acknowledged the significant positive impact BIT has had on advancing social responsibility among enterprises in Henan, particularly state-owned enterprises. Wu expressed hope for further collaboration to widely apply the Center's research findings to the practical production and management of enterprises, helping Henan enterprises achieve greater breakthroughs in economic development, talent cultivation, and philanthropy.
Yu Haibin expressed anticipation for leveraging the university’s foundation platform to explore more exchange and service models. He aimed to make greater progress in the integrated talent development of national science, education, and talent, as well as advancing Henan's strategy of "revitalizing the province through science and technology."
Also present were Xiong Jian, Deputy Director of the Social Responsibility Department of Henan SASAC, and team members Han Lijuan, Lei Yongchao, and Jiang Xin. BIT Center participants included teachers Liang Junxia, Yang Yan, and Wang Ying, and doctoral students Huo Chunyang and Zhang Fan. Further exchanges were conducted during lunch, attended by Li Hanjun, Secretary of the University Administrative Committee, Professor Zhao Erdong, and Associate Professor Gao Ang.
